Authorities in the Italian city of Pavia pay 1000 euro to each Rroma people that agrees to return to Romania as a means to get rid of dozens of immigrants who settled in the former industrial region of Snia.

120 Rroma people including their children were sheltered in temporary households there, but locals protested against the decision and authorities were forced to find a quick solution.

As recently as last night a catholic center where some of the Rroma people are sheltered was attacked with rocks by local citizens, Italian news agency ANSA reports.

Some of the immigrants accepted the money and were accompanied to the airport. However, about a third of them have yet to leave the city.
