The European Commission will verify during the following two months the safety level of all the toys in commerce throughout the European Union.

The decision was announced by the EC Consumer Protection Commissioner Meglena Kuneva, after the toy producing giant Mattel (US-based) withdrawn several kinds of toys in three waves, in less than five weeks.

The company announced this week that will withdraw from the market over 800,000 toys made in China, including Barbie dolls, because the paint used for it contained a lead percentage above the limit.
