Romanian GDP grew by 5.6% in the second quarter of this year to reach over 86.7 billion Romanian RON, below the growth rate reported in the first quarter of the year, the National Statistics Institute announced on Tuesday. Also, the pace of growth of the first quarter of the year is lower than the one of the similar quarter of 2006.
The GDP exceeded 155.2 billion Romanian RON in the first half of 2007, a 5.8% boost as compared to the first half of 2006. However, the reported advance stands below than the one reported in the similar period of the last year.
