Health Ministry offers free anti-smoking assistance

Romanian who wish to quit smoking will receive free consulting and medicines from the Health Ministry as part of a program aiming to reduce the tobacco consumption among the populace.

"We try to bring the patients to the doctor before its too late", says Health Minister Eugen Nicolaescu, mentioning that the program refers to both insured and not ensured patients.

The funds will be obtained through the vice tax applied to tobacco products.
