The Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase and the Babadag shooting range will host, starting on Friday, the largest common military exercise involving both Romanian and American troops. According to a Defense Ministry release, the "Proof of Principle" exercise aims at verifying the capacity of having common training within the military compounds made available by the Romanian side.
Some US 600 military and civil personnel and 250 Romanian soldiers will conduct recognition missions, test their reaction in front of ambushes, patrol and shoot low-gage guns with war ammo. The exercise will last for two months.
