A high ranked employee of the Romanian Embassy is under the suspicion of being involved in an organized network which deals with producing illegal visas for entering Romania, vice Foreign Minister of Moldova Valentin Zubic announced on Friday.

According to daily « Moldova, azi », Zubic refused to offer the name of the Romanian official.

The diplomat is suspect of accepting bribe in order to facilitate the obtaining of Romanian visas without checking if the documents in the submitted file were true or not.

The case opened recently, after a tourism agency manager was arrested for obtaining Romanian visas for 200 - 400 euros.

Romanian Foreign Minister Adrian Cioroianu said on Friday that he didn’t receive any official information from Moldovan authorities in this case and demanded more information.
