According to a National Statistics Institute (INS) release on Friday, the consumption priced indicator (IPC) grew 0.29 in July, compared to June. IPC is one of the main tools used to measure the inflation rate.

Prices for food grew 0.56% in July, compared to June, after a previous significant growth in June (0.32%). Non-food goods were 0.44% more expensive month over month. Meanwhile, prices for services decreased 0.67%, after decreasing in June 0.1%.

The most important growth of prices was seen in fruits, vegetables and cigarettes.

The average annual inflation rate settled in July at 4.4%, a lever lower to the 4.6% estimated in June.
