The Eastern part of Romania and mainly cities and resorts on the Black Sea shore saw devastating storms and heavy rains during the past 24 hours. 400 houses and several streets in Constanta were flooded. In Eforie Nord, some 50 meters of the sea-walls crumbled and the beach was destroyed.
Moldavia is also under heavy rains, several bridges in the Suceava county being torn down by freshets.
The traffic on the national 17th national road between Gura Humorului and Campulung Moldovenesc is blocked by a fallen bridge. An important segment of the DN73A road, between Predeal and Rasnov has also caved in, traffic being currently restricted for vehicles over 3.5 tons.
A yellow code alert was instated for the Eastern half of Romania.
