The fires ignited in forests rapidly expand in Greece, aided by the excessive heat. Three died since the fires burst in the Peloponnesian Peninsula, sources in the local fire department say, quoted by AFP.

The fire ignited in the Aigion area, (200 kilometers far from Athens), when the temperature reached over 40 degrees Centigrade.

Other 10 forest fires were still burning on Thursday in Greece, the worst cases being recorded in the islands of Kefalonia and Zante, in Kios, Hydra, Kastoria and Kozani.
