Nongovernmental credit line grew by 2.4% in Romania in June as compared to the previous month, up to 10.9 billion Romanian RON, according to data released by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) on Tuesday.

Credits in Romanian RON currency upped 3.3% while the foreign currency credit converted in RON advanced 1.3%. In euro, the credit advanced 5.8%.

Compared to the same period last year, nongovernmental credits rose by 44.3%.

Foreign currency credits for residential consumers rose by 6.1% in June while funding in RON grew 3.5%. As compared to June last year’s data, foreign currency credits grew 77.6% to 21.11 billion RON.

When it comes to firms, RON credits rose 3.2% in June as compared to the previous month and 39.9% as compared to June 2006.

Rezident deposits of nongovernmental clients rose 2.2.% in June as compared to the previous month, up to 100.43 billion RON.

Romanian RON deposits of the population advanced 3.5% up to 35.33 billion RON.
