Pensions law submitted for promulgation

The Pensions law, designed to increase pensions some 40%, was table on Friday to the Presidential administration and waits for its Legislation Department approval.
The head of state announced that he refuses “to be part of an electoral scheme” and will not promulgate the law in case the Government can’t explain the resources for the income growth of elders.

Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu, following the explanations of the Economy Minister, Varujan Vosganian, once again ensured the populace that the economy growth and the increased tax collection are enough to cover the necessary funds for the pensions’ growth.

President Traian Basescu repeatedly accused the fact that the pensions’ growth may require funds already employed for European projects and better education.
