Kronospan Sebes was fined 200,000 RON (some 65,000 euros) by the National Environmental Guard (GNM) and risks to be forced to cease all activities. The GNM head demanded the opening of procedures for suspending the company's integrated environment authorizations for two of its activities.
The control proved that the company "didn't fulfill its obligation to monitor and reduce the odor level in order to diminish the populace's discomfort, made no determinations on the level of dust emissions, didn't survey and account its waste for all types of waste products and mislabeled dangerous chemicals", the GNM release informs.
