"In case the law for an uninominal voting system isn't adopted at the beginning of the next Parliamentarian session, we shall organize a referendum on the theme", said the Romanian head of state Traian Basescu on Tuesday, in an interview for Realitatea TV.

According to Basescu, the Parliamentarian majority continues to be formed by the "322" parliamentarians who tried to suspend him, but failed due to the massive popular support in favor of Basescu.

Basescu says that Social Democrat leader Viorel Hrebenciuc, Hungarian Minority representative Attila Verestoy and the Liberal speaker in the House of Deputies, Bogdan Olteanu, are the ones who pushed the Democrat Party out of the Government.

Basescu reminded that three party presidents, Mircea Geoana (Social Democrats), Calin Popescu Tariceanu (Liberals), Dan Voiculescu (Conservatives), as well as other politicians, promised to have the new electoral law voted for before June 30. "They lied", pointed Basescu.

"We definitely see a complicity between the 322 parliamentarians and a government who would do anything to survive", continued Basescu.
