The law enabling the Government to issue emergency ordinances during the summer holiday was approved on Thursday in the House of Deputies with 156 votes in favor, 53 against and 3 abstentions.

A few weeks ago, the Senate rejected the law, but the Deputies have the final word on it. The passing of the law, rumors say, is the result of a political barter between liberals and Opposition Social Democrats.

In order to enable the Government to issue ordinances, Social Democrats demanded the rectification of pensions and money for towns and villages where their party won the elections.
