Cyril Thereau, one of the players of top Romanian football team Steaua, is transferred to Bruges. Steaua’s owner announced on Monday that he accepted the transfer for 2.9 million euro out of which the club will pay 30% to club Charlerois from which the player was acquired in August 2006.

Cyril Thereau was in Belgium for a while, waiting for a decision to be taken. The player said before his holiday leave that he would not want to continue at Steaua.

Romanian businessman-politician Gigi Becali, the owner of Steaua, was seen by Romanian media as changing his mind on considering foreign players for his team.

Becali alleged that Thereau was negatively influenced by the club’s manager, Mihai Stoica, the one who arranged his initial transfer to Steaua. It seems that after Stoica left Steaua, he suggested Thereau to do the same.
