A team of over 50 American doctors re-evaluate the case of the two Romanian Siamese sisters, Anastasia and Tatiana Dogaru, according to a hospital official quoted by the US media. The same official announced that the twins are well and currently hosted in a Cleveland suburb, not back in Parma, as some papers speculated.

It is the first official statement since Wednesday, when the separation procedures were halted because one of the girls has a swollen brain.

"It is a difficult decision, given the fact that there are so many doctors involved", said the spokesman at the Cleveland Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

The cause for the brain inflammation was not yet discovered.
