A new round of negotiations begun this morning between president Traian Basescu and the delegations of political parties. The main Opposition party, Social Democrats (PSD) already left the palace, saying that the solving of the ongoing political crisis is the responsibility of president Basescu and prime minister Tariceanu.

Liberals also ended the meeting and will make official statements around 12:30 (Romania time).

Democrats, Conservatives, Hungarian Minority representatives, other minorities and Liberal Democrats will discuss with the president until 15:00.

UPDATE: First reactions

Social Democrats: PSD won't support a Liberal (PNL) - Democrat (PD) - Liberal-Democrat (PLD) government. The motion against the Tariceanu cabinet is still an option. "The crisis should be solved by president Basescu and PM Tariceanu, since they are responsible for it", said Titus Corlatean, PSD secretary general.

Democrats: PD supports a PD-PNL-PLD government without PM Tariceanu, but will not accept to collaborate with the PSD. "In case the PSD doesn't vote for our anti-governmental motion on Monday and they don't even submit their own motion, we will have the evidence of the Liberal - Social Democrat alliance", said Boc, head of the PD.

Liberals: PNL vice president Crin Antonescu declared on Friday that the consultations demanded by president Basescu have no other goal than to overthrow the Tariceanu cabinet. Liberals discussed with Basescu only for 15 minutes. "We hated each other so we separated", said Antonescu.

Hungarian Minority's Democratic Union: "UDMR won't support either the Government formula suggested by president Basescu, nor the Democrat's anti-governmental motion", said the UDMR deputy Kelemen Hunor.

Conservative Party: The delegation of the Conservative Party suggested that the future Prime Minister should be Ion Tiriac, the former tennis glory, currently a successful billionaire. "A Romanian who made his country famous", "a billionaire who's not an oligarch at the same time" - were the words to describe the businessman.
