Two couples of Romanian citizens were expected to face a French court on Monday shortly after their arrest for trying to sell a newborn baby in the parking area of a hypermarket, the French police said, quoted by the AFP. The selling attempt occurred in Angouleme, south-west France on Saturday.

The woman believed to be the mother of the baby is aged 15. She gave birth in France in March. ADN tests are due to confirm whether the young woman is in fact the mother.
