The "Air Time Monitoring Commission" of the Parliament, formed for the president's impeachment referendum, has adopted yet another controversial proposal submitted by the main opposition party, the Social Democrats (PSD). Impeached President Basescu will not benefit from any air time on the public TV and public radio stations, although the referendum refers only to his person.

Instead, Basescu will be able to use the air time of the Democrats, the party that first nominated him as presidency candidate.

The Commission's decision was voted for by Conservatives, Liberals, Social Democrats, the Hungarian Minority Party and the far right Greater Romania deputies.

Although it was in their intention, deputies failed to prevent Basescu's air time at private TV stations.
