The Constitutional Court in Buhcarest received and registered the documents delivered by the Parliament on the decision to suspend President Traian Basescu. The Court must give its formal approval for the documents before the interim president takes over the office.

Court head Ioan Vida told HotNews.ro on Friday it was unlikely that the judges would deliver their approval on Friday because the procedure to check all documentation was rather lengthy.

He also said that the Parliament did not sent the documentation on Thursday, but a call to prolong the working hours at the Court until all the documents were ready for submission following yesterday vote in which a majority of MPs decided to suspend the President.

Parliament leaders harshly criticized the Court in the afternoon yesterday for having closed offices for the day before the documents arrived.
