Rehabilitation works that have been affecting Bucharest roads for months continue this week with a new area - the Colentina Road linking the center with the eastern outskirts of the city and main gate to Moldova destinations. Traffic will be allowed in the area on only one lane, while two key tram routes will be suspended, according to the Bucharest City Hall.

Colentina is one of the most crowded and heavily trafficked areas in the Romanian capital.

The first works started in Colentina in December last year, but only affected the very end of the route outside Bucharest. Starting Monday, April 16, traffic will be partially suspended along the whole road up to the Piata Obor market.

The works are expected to end in March 2008.
