President Basescu responded in the same tone after PM Tariceanu accused him of affecting Romania's image (Basescu said that the new cabinet is rather a company board). On Friday, Basescu accused on his turn the lack of transparency in forming the new Government.

His reaction came after Tariceanu asked all politicians, including the president, to cease all their political comments, showing that the permanent quarrel affected the Standard & Poor's rating for Romania.

The presidential administration answered instantly: "The high-level corruption and the lack of transparency, doubled by the suspicion that major businessman are in fact controlling the new government, are the only reasons for Romania's decrease in credibility".
