Bancpost had a net profit in 2006 of 25.5 million RON (some 7.2 million euros), compared to the 1.2 million euros loss in 2005, a press release of the bank informs.
At the end of 2006, the bank held assets worth 7.7 billion RON - some 2.3 billion euros - 46.8% compared to the year before.
According to the release, Bancpost doubled its total credit portfolio, reaching a market share of 4.9%, 0.8% more year over year.
The main growth came from mortgage credits, an area where Bancpost held at the end of 2006 a 10.5% market share, compared to 8.1% in the previous year.
