The Constitutional Court decided on Wednesday that the modifications suggested or imposed for the Referendum Law - namely suspending the president with 50%+1 of the voters, instead of 50%+1 of the enlisted electors - are not constitutional. The decision is final and will become a general obligation.

The reasons for the decision are yet to be published in the state's official gazette, "Monitorul Oficial", but articles against the modifications have already been indicated.

Parliamentarians also attempted to allow referendums to take place during any kind of general elections, national, European or others.
