Three commissions of the Romanian parliament approved three nominees respectively - all included on the list of the reshuffled government submitted by prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu on Monday.

The three are Liberals Cristian David, nominated for the Interior Ministry, Cristian Adomnitei for the Education Ministry and Varujan Vosganian for the newly established Economy and Finance Ministry.

Varujan’s nomination was passed with the support of his Liberal Party and the opposition Social Democrats, the Conservative Party and the far-right Greater Romania Party.

MPs representing the Democratic Party - which has been removed from the government after two years of working together with the Liberals - rejected the nominations, while members of the Liberal Democrats (PLD) abstained.

PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu presented a reshuffled government in Parliament on Monday morning. The three were the first of his nominations to face parliamentary approval.
