Spanish authorities have decided to drop labor visas for Romanian citizens with working contracts valid in this country for more than six months, Romanian trade union BNS has announced. Romanian citizens planning to work in Spain are no longer forced to obtain labor visas first nor to submit their judicial and health records, special cases excepted.

They will not be delivered temporary residency cards anymore, but registration certificates with no time limit.

According to the BNS, the Spanish Government has eliminated the restraints for Romanian and Bulgarian workers with Spain contracts of more than six months. The decision is valid starting February 28, 2007.
