The head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), George Maior, has once again contradicted prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu, who previously claimed he was never informed on the involvement of some ministers in the controversial energy affairs.

After the parliamentarian hearing in the SRI Control Commission, Maior declared that the service has provided several reports to both the prime minister and the president, regarding actions on the energy market.

In a TV interview on January 24, Tariceanu stated that SRI never informed him on the ministers' situation. "They both received our data. Each one interpreted it according to their will and desire", said Maior.

The SRI restructuring, the Hungarian minority situation and the Petrom privatization were the main subjects on today's agenda.
