Microsoft founder will pay a short trip to Bucharest from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning to attend the inauguration of the Global Technical Support Center the company opens in the Romanian capital. During his stay here he is also expected to meet President Traian Basescu and prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu.

It was initially announced that Gates will only spend three hours in Bucharest on Thursday morning. But organizers told for HotNews.ro that he is expected to arrive as early as on Wednesday evening.

To honor the richest guest Romania has ever had a whole boulevard in downtown Bucharest was ornated with flags bearing the Microsoft Windows logo, which replace the European Union-specific blue and yellow ornations installed prior to Romania’s EU accession on January 1 this year.

Gates is expected to announce the availability of the Microsoft Windows Vista system, of Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 on the Romanian market.

Microsoft entered the Romanian market in 1996.
