Bucharest and the county of Cluj come in lead among Romanian regions in terms of banking credits, followed by the counties of Arges, Iasi and Bihor, while the counties of Salaj and Giurgiu have the least number of people who have obtained a credit, new statistics published by the Romanian National Bank-BNR show.

The document, covering the month of November 2006, shows the number of banking credits for individuals closes in to 17,5 million. Bucharest citizens are by far the most interested in credits, with over 3 million loans, followed by the country Cluj with 642,000 loans (double the population of Cluj-Napoca city, the largest in the region).

Bucharest and Cluj also come first and second when it comes to the number of functional banking cards, followed by the counties of Timis and Brasov.
