The World Bank report on the economy situation and predictions warns that Romania’s economy may soon overheat. According to WB officials, the risk is caused by the abrupt growth in the current deficit account and the increased demand over offering.

Overheating is also a phenomenon in countries as Azerbaijan, the Baltic states, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia or Ukraine.

According to the annual WB report, Romania’s economy ranked 51st worldwide in 2005, compared to 37th in 1980. Romania still ranks above Ukraine, Kuwait, Morocco, Croatia or Bulgaria.
