Eugen Ovidiu Chirovici resigned on Thursday from his position as president of the Small and Medium Enterprises (which provides an equal ministerial seat), accusing the Government of failing to offer the necessary support for the absorption of European funds. Four days ago, Chirovici also resigned form the Conservative Party, so that he could maintain his position in the Government.

In a press release, Chirovici criticized the Government’s activity in the recent past, showing that priority projects, such as the winter fuel stocks and European funds management institutions, were constantly neglected.

Chirovici accused PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu of ignoring the specialists and failing to promote performance and professionalism in his cabinet.
