The Parliamentarian group of the European Popular Party declared that they would not support, politically or morally, the Romanian candidate for the EU Accounting Court, Ovidiu Ispir. The EPP spokesman said that Ispir’s interview in the Commission raised severe doubts on his candidature.

Ispir was unable to clarify the unpleasant media information on him, referring to a financial scandal. His CV isn’t adequate for the job he seeks and several questions about his past remain unclear.

Despite these statements, Ispir may be validated by the EP on December 12, along with the European Commissioners.
