Iosif Constantin Dragan, the Romanian mogul of Italia liquid gas company Butan Gas and businessman Ion Tiriac are the first two Romanians to cross the 1 billion dollars boundary. A youngster under 30, Sebastian Aurelian Gita, owner of software producing company Asesoft, is the highest new entry, with some 40 million dollars.
Controversial businessman Gigi Becali, currently investigated for bribe attempt by the Anti Corruption Prosecution Office, doubled his money since 2005, from some 400 to over 900 million dollars, all from real estate price growth, thus taking the third place.

Controversial businessman Sorin Ovidiu Vantu lost the third place for Becali, but comes closely on fourth, with 900 million dollars. Soda, juice and chips producers, the Micula brothers, share 770 million dollars, less than the banking, media and hotel managing brothers Paunescu (850 million dollars).
