The Bucharest city hall has announced the main road linking Bucharest to Ploiesti remains closed on a considerable portion north of Bucharest until Sunday, 22 October due to continuing works in the area.
A key transport corridor out of Bucharest, the road has been closed for more than a week causing havoc as drivers rushed to use alternative but very busy routes to reach destination.
The road is closed between Piata Presei Libere and the Aerogarii Boulevard. Drivers can chose between two alternative routes: 1) Presei Libere Square - Poligrafiei Boulevard - Baiculesti Road -Straulesti Road - Ion Ionescu de la Brad Streed and 2) Charles de Gaulle Square - Aviatorilor - Nicolae Caramfil Road - Aerogarii Boulevard.
