Two Romanian alpinists who tried to climb a peak in the Hymalayas remained have stranded at an altitude of 7,100 m, Romanian news channel Realitatea TV announced today. Other members of the team have failed to come in contact with them for two days.

The two Romanians tried to climb the Nanga Parpat peak but were caught in a storm. Their fellow climbers remained in a camp at an altitude of 3,500 m and tried vainly to contact the two.

Two days ago, the Romanain climbers told in their last contact with the camp that temperatures were down to -30 degrees Celsius where they were and that they only had food and oxygen for five days.

The Romanian team left for the Hymalayas a month ago targeting the Nanga Parpat peak (8125 m).
