The leadership of the Social Democratic Party - PSD, the main opposition group in Romania, decided on Monday to push members Vasile Dancu and Nicolae Serban for the seats as group deputy leaders in the Senate and member Victor Ponta for the seat of deputy speaker of the House of Deputies.

The PSD National Permanent Board on Monday also planned to discuss changes to the representation of the party in parliamentary commissions.

But the subject was postponed for next week, PSD leader Mircea Geoana announced.

Changes may affect Senators Rodica Stanoiu and Adrian Paunescu as well as deputies Dan Ioan Popescu and Emilian Cutean.
