The Liberal Party expressed its content regarding the resignations of the heads of Romanian special services and of the General prosecutor, as they show hope for a real reform of the Justice system, according to PNL leader Calin Popescu Tariceanu. Other Liberals were more critical towards the former officers.

Tariceanu, who is also the PM, said that those resignations should have taken place a year ago, and reiterated the importance of appointing at the helm of the special services real professionals, not militarily or politically involved.

The Liberal senator Puiu Hasotti accused the Romanian president for keeping the three in the top positions of the Romanian intelligence, while another Liberal PM Crin Antonescu considered that the General Prosecutor’s resignation was not a voluntary gesture, but was requested by the president.
