Mihai Florian Codlea is the new director of the Romanian Intelligence Service whereas the deputy director Silviu Predoiu will be heading the External Information Service, according to a press release of the Presidency.

President Traian Basescu will send his proposals for the heads of the intelligence services to the Parliament which is the only authority entitled to appoint the chiefs of the special services.
