Romanian PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu requested authorities to work on a strategy of introducing an electronic system by the end of this year that would provide citizens with prompt information about the public institutions.

The request came within a reunion on the information system in the public administration. Tariceanu is to ask for assistance from the Austrian authorities in implementing this project, as “the Austrian example is a solution for a modern and efficient administration,” PM said.

The project is to be carried out with World Bank funds, and will also provide a unitary presentation of the public institutions’ websites that will enable a simple access to all the information. The PM also plans to expand and strengthen the body of IT specialists in the administration.
