On Tuesday, the Romanian Defense minister Teodor Atanasiu withdrew the accusations regarding the presentation by the presidential counsellor Sergiu Medar of an allegedly secret document on a TV channel on Sunday night.
The chief of the Intelligence Department with the Defense ministry explained that the document presented by Medar was not classified, but only the transmission method.
Therefore, Medar was not guilty of any crime against the national security, Atanasiu admitted.
Atanasiu made the accusations against Medar in a press conference on Sunday morning, following the rejection by the Supreme Defense Council of the Liberals’ initiative regarding the withdrawal of the Romanian troops from Iraq.
