The group Realitatea Media has launched a new press agency NewsIn on the Romanian market on Monday, which aims at competing with the other leading agencies such as Mediafax (80% market share) and state-owned Rompres. The media agency belongs to the controversial businessman Sorin Ovidiu Vantu, who owns the Realitatea Media group that comprises two TV channels and the press group Catavencu.

The agency employs 50 reporters that target to issue 200 news items/ day. The services are free of charge until September this year, and they include non-stop access to photos, press releases, and news items grouped under four general fields - Politics, Economics, Justice- Interns- Events, and Foreign- Integration., according to Editor-in-chief Valeria Dorneanu.

The paid services will include video information, specialized content for web pages, and business-to-business publications. Services are available at www.newsin.ro.
