The Government will be able to privatize the cinema theatres and the land and other buildings that belong to them, following the endorsement of the draft law by the House of Deputies on Tuesday.
The opposition Greater Romania and Social Democratic parties contested the privatization method of the cinemas, but the Liberal deputy Raluca Turcan stated for Hotnews.ro that the privatization process will be carried out via the Authority for State Assets Recovery.
The cinema law also entails the creation of a Cinema Fund and its financing sources. The movies that will record good audineces will be rewarded with a bonus from the Cinema Fund. Te fund will support movie projects with up to 80% of their value.
