The Terapia-Rambaxy company will develop its portfolio by 40 new products in the coming 18 months with the aim of becoming the number one pharmaceutical company in Romania, its new chairman said on Wednesday. It is now seventh among Romanian pharmaceutical producers with a combined market share of 5.5-6%.
Chairman Peter Burema said the new products will focus on cardio, central nervous system, muscular affections and diabetes.
Indian company Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd announced the conclusion of the takeover of 96.7% of Romanian company Terapia SA by Ranbaxy Netherlands BV early this year, after the transaction received the approval of the Romanian Competition Council.
