The number of bird flu hotbeds in Romania has remained unchanged for a week, the Agriculture Ministry announced on Wednesday. The number of hotbeds stays at 127 and the authorities hope to close all hotbeds by mid-July, a ministry spokesman said.

He said about one million poultry were culled in concerted efforts to control the crisis, including 700,000 or more on the Codlea poultry farming platform in Central Romania and about 200,000 in households across the country.
