The leader of the main opposition group in Romania, the Social Democratic Party – PSD, said on Wednesday that the party should get active and prepare for early elections. Mircea Geoana made the statement at a meeting with regional leaders of the PSD aimed at setting the political focus of the party for the coming period.

According to Geoana, „the fact that the latest simple motions tabled by the opposition were a partial success, the preparation of a motion we will introduce in late June and the latest evolutions within the governing coalition suggest we are striding towards early elections”.
