The non-governmental credit market rose to 51.6% to 61.1 billion Romanian lei by the end of April 2006, compared to April last year and 3.7% up compared to March this year, according to Romanian National Bank (BNR) data presented on Wednesday.

The boost was due to a 95.7% increase of the RON component of the market and a 22.3% improvement of the currency component.

In April, the non-governmental credit in the national currency reached 35.07 billion lei, up 95.7% compared to April 2005.
