The National Veterinary Authority informed on the existence of 55 hotbeds of avian flu throughout the country, out of which 25 are in the country of Brasov and other 43 townships, most of them in Prahova county, are under suspicion of bird flu and still need to be confirmed.

Most of the bird flu hotbeds are localized in the central Romania county of Brasov (25), but also in the neighboring county of Prahova (6), in the Eastern county of Vrancea(6), in Bacau (5), Valcea, Sibiu, Mures, Covasna, Buzau and Neamt, and in two sectors of the capital Bucharest.

The veterinaries are supervising domestic and wild poultry, taking samples for medical tests.
