Romanian PM appointed a new head of the National Veterinary Authority (NVA) on Thursday in the person of Marian Avram., former director of the Sanitary and Animal food safety Direction.

He is replacing Ion Agafitei, dismissed by PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu on May 18, on grounds of bad management of the bird flu crisis. The deputy head of the NVA was also dismissed.
