The leader of the Greater Romania Party (PRM) Corneliu Vadim Tudor announced his party would no longer sign the motion against the Government initiated by the opposition Social Democratic Party, following the social democrats’ refusal to join forces on a longer term basis.

Tudor considers there are power cores within PSD that oppose a protocol with the PRM. He also refuses to file a motion that would topple the current Government and bring Theodor Stolojan, a Liberal top figure and cousellor of president Traian Basescu, to the helm of a new government.

The news that the two opposition parties would join forces came in the beginning of May from the PRM leader, and was confirmed by the PSD leader Mircea Geoana.
