The leader of the main opposition group in Romania Mircea Geoana said before the Parliament on Wednesday that his Social Democratic Party (PSD) would propose a political deal with the governing coalition to commonly support the EU accession of the country.

Geoana said PSD had offered such a deal before, in autumn 2005, but they were ignored.

He said, however, that the conclusions of the May 16 report of the European Commission are based on a difficult political instability in the country and accused the government of being formed of six separate governments formed around various interests.
